Here at Akavinyl , we have many Japanese CDs for sale, many of which have bonus tracks. We thought it high time to showcase these for you so you can know what you’re getting if you buy from us. Enjoy installment #1: live bonus tracks! All of these items are available on this site. Click the links below to see more details for each.
The Cure – “Show” – 1993 – SOLD!
For whatever reason, the US only got a 1-disc version of this when it came out with 14 tracks while Europe and Japan got 2-disc sets with 18 tracks. If you wanted the other 4 tracks in the US, you also had to go out and find “Sideshow” which was a smaller live E.P. This version includes the opener “Tape, “Fascination Street,” “The Walk,” and “Let’s Go To Bed.”
Sting – “…All This Time“ – 2001
Recorded live in Sting’s home in Il Palagio, Italy on 9.11.2001 (yes, THAT 9/11), this includes 3 tracks which did make the various US and European versions. “Seven Days” and “Shape of My Heart” do not appear on either the European or US editions, and “Mad About You” does not appear on the US edition.
Interpol – “Turn On The Bright Lights“ – 2003
This epic debut album gets even more so with the addition of 3 of their first videos and 2 live tracks from their John Peel Session.
Franz Ferdinand – “Right Thoughts Right Words Right Action“ – 2013
On their 2013 release in Japan, the lads from Franz gave us a whole additional live bonus CD with 13 tracks recorded at Konk Studios.
Def Leppard – “Vault” – 1995
Similarly, Def Leppard added a bonus live disc to their 1995 greatest hits compilation “Vault” with 9 tracks recorded at Don Valley, Sheffield, UK on June 6th, 1993.
